Congratulations to 2018 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) youth participants. Thank you all for your hard work and diligence toward making your communities a cleaner and better place.

SYEP Culmination held at Boyle Heights Technology Center. GAP hired 15 youth from Boyle Heights, El Sereno, South Los Angeles and Eagle Rock, representing Council Districts 8 and 14.Youth made the positive choice to stay out of trouble and become involved in their community. Their job duties consisted of community beautification, removal of trash and debris and bulky item pickups with help from GAP’s Community Clean Up Department (CCU). Additionally, youth participated in weekly educational workshops focused on a variety of topics such as health, safety, employment expectations and career preparation and development.
