SYEP CD 15

SYEP Culmination 2018

August 10th

Congratulations to our 2018 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) youth participants. Thank you all for your hard work and diligence in making your communities a cleaner and better place.

GAP hired 19 youths from Council District 15, representing Wilmington, San Pedro, Harbor City, and Watts. Youth made the positive choice to stay out of trouble and become involved in their community during their summer vacation. Their job duties consisted of community beautification projects, removal of trash and debris and bulky item pickups with help from GAP’s Community Clean Up Department (CCU). Additionally, youth participated in weekly educational workshops focused on a variety of topics such as health, safety, employment expectations and career preparation and development.
