Janice Hahn, a long-standing supporter of the Gang Alternatives Program (GAP), donates $130,000.00. Janice has been a loyal advocate for GAP for over 20 years, served on the Board of Directors as President from July 1999 to June 2001. During her tenure, she brought focus and energy to the organization and with the board, instituted a search for a new executive director who could strengthen and grow the organization. As a result of her leadership and advocacy, GAP entered a period of unprecedented growth and success, which she continued to support publicly throughout her career.

She stepped down from GAP’s Board upon her election as CD 15 Council Member but never wavered in her support of the organization. She continually worked with LA City’s Community Development Department (CDD) and Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) to provide funding for GAP’s primary prevention Gangfree Life® programs and for its successful and well-received community clean up efforts, assuring as much as $300,000 in extra funding for GAP’s increasingly successful, nationally- recognized, award-winning efforts.

Its fair to say that Janice has been a staunch supporter and an integral component in the growth of the organization, we are very grateful for her admiration and support of GAP and its unique approach to prevent young people from joining gangs.
