Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Awards Grant to GAP

The Gang Alternatives Program is happy to announce that the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is partnering with the Gang Alternatives Program (GAP) in awarding a grant of $45,000 to go towards delivering energy and water conservation education to its participants through GAP’s My Gangfree Life® Program, STEP UP! After School Program, Educational Outreach Program (EOP), Parent Project® Program, Teen Program, and other public community events.

Conservation education will be conveyed to program participants in a variety of ways such as in-class and large group lesson presentations, pamphlets, and/or LADWP informational handouts. The focus will be to increase awareness on strategies and techniques for energy and water conservation, to influence change in reducing wasteful personal habits, and learn ways that LADWP’s assistance and rebate programs can help in reducing costs in the home.
