Law Enforcement Day

George De La Torre Elementary School

March 21, 2019

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Harbor Division came down to George De La Torre Elementary school for Law Enforcement Day. They discussed the dangers of Social Media, bullying, LAPD Explore program and the need to respect one another. LAPD also rolled out a boot camp where students competed to see who could finish the obstacle race the fastest.

Children were very excited to actually be able to get in a real police car, they also brought along some of their off road utility vehicles for kids to explore. Children learned about the different terrains and why those off road vehicles are necessary to do their job.

We thank LAPD for taking the time from their busy schedules to meet with our youth and brighten their day. What a wonderful experience.
